We had a mass layoff on 4/1 one year. It was a hard time getting people to understand.

If I were getting laid off today I just wouldn't believe you no matter what you told me. Why today?

Actually, a very common day to let people go because it's the beginning of the second quarter.
I think calling someone up to let them go on Christmas would be worse.

Ya, but at least on Christmas people will believe you. Imagine coming home and telling your wife you were fired today. Ohhhhh, hahaha, good one honey, what do you want for dinner?

I don't know if it'd be sad or funny if they chose to show up tomorrow anyways.

I had to lay off a friend on Halloween. He was in costume.

It would ruin a Christmas without a doubt. Like THEWORLDSFLAT2 said "At Least you could believe them " I agree .. The first guy they let go today said well IDK if I'm supposed to be coming in tomorrow or not but I'll see you guys later.. He just didn't know.
